Although Pac-Man was dominating the arcades, the home console market was rapidly expanding with Space Invaders becoming the 'killer app' for the Atari VCS (aka the Atari 2600).
This chart displays the top 10 best selling console video games in the US region. Note that sales numbers are estimated, as record keeping for game sales was not as well defined as it is today.
