Who truly drives global emissions?
The 2024 OLACDE balance provides a clear perspective on the global carbon footprint. While Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) accounts for only 4.89% of global CO2 emissions, regions such as Asia & Australasia concentrate more than half of the world’s total (53.78%).
This disparity is a direct reflection of a significant industrial gap. While less industrialized regions like LAC and Africa (3.95%) maintain a minimal footprint, major global manufacturing hubs continue to operate under different regulatory frameworks, shifting the environmental weight across the globe.
