When many people argue about the largest fast food chain, they do so judging by the brand that offers their favourites.
But data do not lie. One way to assess a fast-food chain’s size is to examine its market capitalization.
Market cap is the current market value of a company’s outstanding shares. It’s often used to indicate a company’s size and value relative to its peers.
Today’s visualization ranks the top 30 global fast-food chains by market cap, based on data from Companies Market Cap.
It’s important to note that this explainer focuses only on publicly listed chains, so privately owned giants are not included in this ranking.
Also, because market capitalization fluctuates with daily stock movements, the figures shown here are as of December 12, 2025.
