Toyota is the Most Reliable Automaker in the U.S. 🙌
What We’re Showing
This graphic ranks car brands by the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles. All figures come from J.D. Power’s 2024 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study.
To come up with this ranking, J.D. Power collected responses from 30,595 original owners of 2021 model-year vehicles after three years of ownership. Their study was fielded from August to November 2023.
Note that Tesla was not included because it does not meet study award criteria.
Toyota’s Recent Stumble
Despite a strong showing in this ranking, Toyota recently ran into issues. The automaker recently recalled over 100,000 Tundra pickup trucks & Lexus LX SUVs due to a manufacturing issue with its twin-turbo V6 engines. This affects models built over the 2022-2023 period.
